Faith and the Founding of America
Independence Day is a big deal at our house — partly because my oldest son was born on the Fourth of July.
When the fireworks would happen, I’d always tell him, “Look, Dad and Mom are celebrating your birthday.” He eventually figured it out… ;)
I want to talk to you today about the faith of our founders and why it matters.
Our nation was founded on the principles of God’s Word. I don’t believe every person was following the Lord back then, but I’ll tell you, the personalized faith in those days mattered.
The United States of America is a freak of nature in the time stamp of history — exceedingly prosperous and blessed for its relatively young age as a nation.
I think it’s for one reason only: because we honored God. Now, we’re slipping away from that, like a snowball going downhill, and there’s a big danger.
Unless Americans return to God and walk humbly before Him — for He resists the proud — bad things can happen, folks. This is a huge reason why the TPUSA Faith Pastors Summit is a huge deal. Pastors from all across the nation will be gathering together to contend for righteousness in our nation. Register HERE for it if you haven’t already.
So my prayer is that, as a nation, there would be a revival in the hearts of us who believe and those who really need to come to faith.
“… if my people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” — 2 Chronicles 7:14
Sincerely,
Victor Marx
